I did some changes to the website and they are adding a new sub-section under "PHP Section" which is "Articles". currently, it leads to a list of HTML files of articles I previously wrote to other websites including the articles I wrote for the HotScripts.com monthly newsletter.
soon, I will organize in a better way and some of the recent ones which aren't uploaded yet.

The other change was removing Amazon ads since they looked ugly and actually didn't even generate a single penny! no
I also removed the Google referral ad because, again, it was ugly as well.

of course, few days ago I changed the banner. not fancy but I like better than the previous one.

I came accross this website which allows you to use a script (written in PHP) to create your own 80X15 buttons.
The script is neat and allows you to customize your buttons as you like except, of course, the size of the button wink

The PHP source code of the script is also there and can be found here and here.

The PHP class BrilliantButton is easy to use and it's under GPL!

here are some buttons that I created:

I liked the first one the most and I've already started using it in my sigs in forums I visit.
if you feel like you want to link to my website using 80X15 buttons, feel free to use any of those if you want wink

At last my host decided to update our PHP version to a newer one! I knew that yesterday when I tried opening my website and instead of seeing my code parsed I got the download dialogue of index.php! so I knew that PHP was down for upgrading since I had a recent chat with one of the owner of the hosting company and he said that they are willing to upgrade soon.
anyway, I hoped that it was PHP5! but, alas, it was PHP 4.4.2 undecided
but at least we got rid of the old buggy 4.3.x branch! now it's time to upgrade MySQL to MySQL 4.1.x as we are still using MySQL 4.0.x!
PHP 4.3.x had some serious memory bugs that could cause the server to crash!
pretty outdated specs, huh? I know but hopefully they will upgrade all those rusty versions with cutting-edge technology before my current subscription expires since I already have my eyes on one particular host company wink

P.S. someone could've seen some of the source code I have here by downloading the files which were supposed to be parsed during PHP down time but I think nobody did, or not? laugh

So the CVS HEAD is finally cleaned from Magic quotes, safe mode and register globals!
In Harry Fuecks's blog he mentioned all those changes with some links.

To tell the truth, I've always neglected checking on this directive and just slam some code to bypass it. now I don't have to worry about it anymore wink
I just hope to see PHP6 soon. meanwhile I hope my host (BMHost.com) upgrades to PHP5 soon and stop being lazy and follow Cpanel's guys advices of not upgrading and sticking to the buggy 4.3.10 version.
I already have an account with Site5.com and so far they've been awesome with prices and support! I actually pay much less for what I get there than what I pay here! BMHost.com, don't lose a customer grin

At last! this uneeded feature is finally removed once and for all from PHP!
Andi removed all safe-mode-related code from the CVS HEAD of PHP6!
so this means PHP6 will have no safe mode any more and hosts will no longer be able to use it, of course if they choose to use PHP6.

now I want to read when Magic quotes are removed wink

some the PHP community was striving for a standerd framework for PHP and now, finally, Zend has released its anticpated framework.

The Zend Framework is still in its very early days and I've just downloaded it and still looking in its code.

and for those who might haven't heard about it! (I wonder if there is anyone who didn't!), here is a webcast recording of Andi Gutmans about it Click Here and here is Andi's blog about it as well.

Once I take a deeper look at the framework, I will post more about it smiley
